Hasiru Material Recovery Facility
In May of 2020, Hasiru Dala’s Recycling Initiative started its operations at the Kambipura Material Recovery Facility (MRF) with 5 members processing about 8 tonnes of plastics per month. Overcoming challenges of finding authorized recyclers, standardizing operations, approaching clients, we now send 75% of our plastics to authorized recyclers and have better industry connects. In July of 2021, we started the MRF at Machohalli (MMRF). The facility has achieved quality control, workers retention and discovered over 220 usable brands.

Technology adaptation for MIS
Since 2023, we have been using Recity’s Cetraces application for maintaining our data flows. After some initial troubles with maintaining the backend data of vendors and billing, we have started to comfortably use it.
Designing HASIRU MLP Boards
We have been experimenting with newer designs and colour techniques to develop a catalogue of our Post/boards. These Post consumer MLP boards are used for building cabins and furnishings and have been receiving a lot of interest from customers across India. We have seen our customer range grow from 1 to 4 in under 6 months!

34 women from the waste picker community participated in a jewellery-making workshop from post-consumer textile waste – an external resource person was invited. 100 Blouse pieces were used to make bags by “Batte Bags”
